Miguel Battista, a 71-year-old biochemist, was detained for allegedly keeping his wife and three children in a 'captivity' in his home. The case, which sparked public debate, involves allegations of kidnapping and abandonment. The prosecutor, Cecilia Bagnato, and the public prosecutor, Mónica Caveri, detailed the investigation, which includes psychiatric evaluations and protective measures for the victims. Battista claims he adopted a 'resguardo' lifestyle due to threats against him and his family. The case has led to two days of preventive detention for Battista, with ongoing investigations and legal proceedings.
