Worried nuts will cause weight gain? A large review puts that concern in perspective

A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials investigated the effects of nuts with different fatty acid profiles on body composition. Nuts were associated with modest reductions in fat mass and improved body composition, and the MUFA-rich group was linked to lower triglycerides, with some improvements in lipid profiles observed.

Estudio en Kerala arroja luz sobre el vínculo entre la microbiota intestinal y la enfermedad de Parkinson

The research found significant differences in the gut bacteria composition between Parkinson's patients and healthy individuals. Specifically, Parkinson's patients exhibited higher levels of bacteria associated with inflammation and lower levels of beneficial bacteria that produce short-chain fatty acids, suggesting an imbalance that could weaken the gut barrier and allow inflammation to spread.
